    Default The Mist... Eh...

I read the mist and then saw the movie. I thought the movie kinda sucked. They left out a lot of parts! I guess I should except it because they pretty much do that to all movies. The Mist is the only Stephen King movie that I saw and read the book first.

I also didn't really like the camera work. It reminded me of The Office, is that just me?

the movie to me was pretty good, I liked the novella much more. I like that Stephen King left the end more to your own imagination and how utterly horrid to have him shoot his son and the others to find out five minutes later it was over??? course, I think Mr. King rather liked the irony!!

The camera crew was the same crew that worked on The Shield, which Frank Darabont was a big fan of. He also directed a couple of episodes on it.
Darabont didn't want to change the ending, and so he had to make the film with half the projected budget. Since the budget was so low they had to film it quick, which is where the 'Shield' crew comes in. They are used to work quickly, and the DPs have found a way to shoot both the main actors and coverage at the same time. The downside to this is that it looks a bit jarring at first, but gives it a more realistic feel, I think.

I read the novella a long time ago, so i was excited when they turned it into a movie. I think it was pretty good, pretty good horror movie, but the ending shocked me. guess that's what they wanted

I thoroughly enjoyed the ending. However, the movie precediing it? Not too much.

    Do love the novella, though!

The ending of the movie sucked...liked most of it up to that. Loved the book though.
It's a shame that so few of the movies based on King's books are very good. The Stand was an awesome book....and crappy movie.

Didn't read the book yet but i'm assuming it's way better than the film.

The only good part about the movie is when they shoot eachother and then the lame ass gets rescued.
