Hi,
AWSS! (And What Spidey Said).
Long days and pleasant nights
A job, is a job, is a job. Its the small special moments that make it all worth it.
I have had many jobs over the years. Doing work as a graphic artist was a 'production line' job. But occasionally I really got to stretch my artistic muscle. It was those times that made every tedious day worth it. Also, the perks of seeing products before they came to market, travel, and marketing strategy meetings really made it interesting and fun.
Now as a stay at home mom of twins, my days are pretty monotonous. But, the smallest thing can 'make my day'. My kids crack me up. My daughter is definitely a word slingger...constantly...the other day she told me that a colour as "verple". (verp: a burp that is part vomit + ple: the end of purple = a colour that makes her want to barf) This kid is 9, can't wait to see what she will come up with when she is older.
I would be interested in hearing the moments that makes Ms. Mods job so worth it? Reading manuscripts before publication? Smacking down a obnoxious poster?
Sing it sister...
Being in a position to facilitate bringing joy to someone's life in many different ways and having that opportunity too many times to recount over the years is probably the one that means the most to me.![]()
Oh man, what a great answer!
The post above really says all you need to know about this wonderful person. I know she has done amazing things for our favorite word slinger, the members of this board and I can't count on my hands and toes how often she has helped me personally.
So yeah, you can't make the above up. That's our sweet Ms. Mod through and through<--I use this every time I talk to or about her, I just can't help it.
Going to agree with Matt- MsMod's reply tells you exactly what a kind, caring and wonderful lady she is to so many. She touches our lives in ways that no other can. Thank you for being you, MsMod![]()
Being a bored-to-death content-writer myself I truly understand how a work in a field you love passionately (writing in my case, dealing with Mr. King's book in Mr. Mod's case) is very different than doing it on your spare time. It's the choice factor, I believe. that makes the difference. Think, for example, about eating chocolate (yummy...) and then imagine having to eat chocolate 5 days a week, 8-9 hours a day.
Still want to trade?![]()
I appreciate the job Ms Mod does. Anyone who stops trolls and spammers from having a voice on this excellent forum is good by me!![]()
It must be odd for Ms. Mod to moderate these posts. We are all trumpeting her virtue, but to remain true to the rules of the board she must read them and post accordingly.
It is, but it's easier to take these than the ones that chew me out. There have been a few times that I would have liked to be able to respond to something that's gotten my back up but didn't because of my professional ethics. That's usually a knee-jerk reaction anyway and if I just let it sit for a while, I can let it be put back in perspective. Above all, I just remember that if I say something I'd regret it also could also reflect poorly on Steve as I'm his representative here.
