    Default Mod times

Who knows if this thread will be a good one but the more posts I read from Ms. Mod the more I think, "What a cool job to have!"
I was hoping that Ms. Mod might share some of the "cool experiences" that shes had while working in the SK Office/Board. (or the other unseen co-workers that are there.) Anyone care to bite?

Any job done over and over again...year in and year out...becomes sorta "just a job" after a while. She has the same responsibilties like others in chasing a dollar. I doubt that there is alot of glamour in the day to day stuff. I expect her responsibilites are much more involved than moderating this board. A fulltime down to earth working position only it happens to be for a famous person. The positive thing is he is such a nice guy....some famous people arent.

Couldn't have said that better myself but somehow it comes across better when someone else says it especially when there are so many people who've expressed how much they wish they had my job. On this side of the screen I'm thinking, "and after about a week, you'd be asking me to take it back." Don't get me wrong, over the years I've had opportunities and experiences that I would not have had with any other job in Bangor, ME, but at its core, it's still a day to day J-O-B.

I know it's not all sunshine and roses, just from what we see on the boards from testy, aggressive posters. And, I'm sure there's a lot of behind the scenes drama that we don't see from out here. I imagine there are definitely a lot of bad things mixed in with the neat stuff...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm so glad you're here. This forum is tops compared to everything out there, and a lot of it is because you put up with so much and sort through all the crap so that things don't get out of hand. I mean, obviously there are a lot of awesome posters here, too! But I've seen a lot of situations that would have ended up in the toilet on any other board, that you've kept on a pretty even keel. Yay for us that you're here!

It's not just a job, it's an adventure! Poor Ms. Mod, she must be working over time lately editing my yapping!! I apologize, but I don't think there's any way to curb my evil typing fingers! I do say one thing, I appreciate all you do for us and we loves you!!

As one of the "old timers", I can say MsMod is the best. It is often forgotten that first she is Stephen King's personal assistant. The moderation of the SKMB is in addition to all her other "jobs". Can you begin to imagine what her day is like? Dealing with all the related tasks involved with assisting a famous writer. Yet, she is always here moderating the MB for us. Above and beyond her normal working hours.

Think back to days she must do her other duties, and one quickly realizes how important MsMod is to us, and how much we miss her.

MsMod is one of the most caring and kind people this world has to offer. But beware, she is known to use her delete finger too

Staropeace said is spot on. The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence( screen).

Thank you MsMod for all you do for the SKMB.

I know what you do is work your tail off, but I thought you might have a story about something that happened at WORK that was cool. You deal with so many different things, at least it sounds like it. So let's open the question up to everyone. I'll start.

I was at a clients house one time and this couple was really old. I mean old. They were in their 70's and had been married forever. I got such a kick seeing how they were to each other every time I saw them. One day my client, this woman had told me she just had been sitting in her chair all morning watching TV. Her husband was out playing golf with his friends. OMG!! I couldn't believe he was outside on that day. It was 110*. I could barely handle it!! Later when he finally did come home, he looked exhausted!! His hair was plastered to his forehead from sweat and as soon as he was about to sit down, she asked him in her sweet little voice, "Honey, could you go outside in the garden and cut me some flowers for the table?"
The look on his face was priceless. He stared at her blankly for a second, shook it off and bent down to kiss her on top of the head and told her of course...and did it! It was so adorable. Not much of a story but it stuck with me.

    Yeah, ok.

I`d still take it, no problem at all.

Do I e-mail my resume to Steve or do I send a PM to you ?

I mean, you know, for when you retire and such, just calling dibbs.

Ms. mod has set a high standard. Her job description must read like a novel. Controlling
an unruly mob who admire her boss, above and beyond her regular duties is I'm sure trying at times. Thank You Ms. Mod

While da big boss's work can be frighteningly retching, she makes flannel most Modliciously fetching.
With her chainsaw I'd take no bets, 'cause a woodchipper gots no regrets...the hell with "delete", I prefer staying complete!

Ya put up with our swill, and you can say what you will, but without you, this joint would be all cheap hotdog...with a really crappy grill!
( yeah yeah, I know, a pretty lame suck up & I'm late..again......but but, I got somethin' in my eye)
