Default changing perceptions on rereading the SK Canon

Well I'm about 4 books into my reread of the Canon and I've been struck by how my perceptions have changed. Black House blew me away on first read, not so much on the second. Desperation seemed a very slight read my first time through, this time I loved it and would put it in the my top 5.

Based on how so many people here loved It, I'm looking for a decently priced hardcover so I can recheck it out. I'm looking forward to seeing if my perceptions change.

    Anyone else experience this?

You are four books in so far and two of the four your chose were Desperation and Black House? I assume then Talisman was one of the others.

Why did you decide if I may ask why you would you choose those novels?

Ive read many of his books mutliple times but if I decided to start over I think I would try to start fresh from the beginning and work my way through what will be Under the Dome.

i found an eight dollar hc of desperation awhile back, doc. read it before several times and reading this hc now. thought maybe i'd throw it out there as a prize for wicked easy wednesdays on the sk trivia group. but then again, the cover is pretty neat and on the inside back cover, sk is sitting at a desk, one of them corgi's under his legs stretched out on the desk top. there's this funky looking computer, keyboard combo off to the side. sk is wearing socks. is all that a spoiler?

Yeah Talisman and the new, expanded Stand. I chose Black House because of the Talisman, and Desperation because I found a HC version on sale at Booksamillion.

Part of the reason for my choices is I"m trying to find new HC versions at a discount, which has been surprisingly easy to do.
