    Default Anniversary of a Miracle

    Hi,

Do most of you on here know what today is? I do.

Today it has been a decade since our dear Sai King was hit in a car accident by Bryan Smith. This thread is just a little "Thank You" note to the Good God Above for allowing the greatest writer in history to live his life to the full, and give us stories that inspire, satisfy, and keep us awake at night, looking over our shoulders.

And, to Stephen King, from all of us here at the MB, we would like to thank you for sticking in there and never giving up, and always giving your very best!

    Long live the King!

    Long days and pleasant nights

Perhaps a little hyperbolic to describe it as a "miracle", and I don't think that we need to invoke the dubious existence of a "Good God Above" to explain something that probably owes more to good luck and skilful medical intervention.

But, in the main, yes, it's great that SK is still able to do what he does best. Long may he reign.

When I think of the alternative...gives me cold shivers. Imagine all the color leaching out of the world.

I do not wish "Godspeed" on King. I'd rather sincerely curse him with "Snail's Pace."

We get to keep him among us longer that way.

He's taught me a few things...how to write, how not to live, how to live, and how not to write.

He also taught me that life is never a third-person story, but that observing life through a camera's lense can be quite revealing, and that writing is often a form of open heart and brain surgery, at the same time....and you are the surgeon on yourself.

    Thanks, Stephen King

Is the word "Miracle" politically incorrect now?

aptpupil! I ought to put you over my knee! I had to look that up! lol Extreme exaggeration? Well, your comment about the wording of the post certainly was that, so you would have worded that differently, and give all thanks to luck and man we see, but you are not Dark Prince.

Knowing that Stephen believes in God and reads the Bible regularly is enough reason for me to believe that he would more likely than not, even feel that he experienced a miracle and have no problem with that being said here. Why so offended?

You and me touched on this before (and you know I love you) and I would rather live life believing and find later that there isnt, than to live a life not believing and find that there is, but thats me. Sorry for getting off the true subject here. Dont ever sneeze around me, or I will say God Bless You.

Stephen, you are such a miracle to so many of us in so many ways! Thank you! xoxo

Default We Are the Lucky Ones

In On Writing Mr. King said that sometimes people come to him and say how happy they are he survived the accident and he said, I'm paraphrasing of course, that it definitely beats "I wish you were dead".

We'', I don't know if t was God, Karma, the Spirit of Storytelling or just a chain of events that bore a certain outcome, what I do know that if there was luck involved, it was just as much our own as it was Mr. King's and his family.

I for one simply guess that at the end, the story simply needed to be told all the way through.
