Crossroads

I had stumbled upon this by accident, I had no idea it existed, but Im not a country fan, but a huge Def Leppard fan, so passing this along to Def Leppard and Taylor Swift fans who havent seen this, its pretty awesome.

Apparently Crossroads is a television show where a country artist chooses another artist, of a complete musical genre, to join them for a performance live on stage and do each other's stuff together.

When Def Leppard got word that Taylor Swift had chosen them for this, their only question was 'Whos Taylor Swift?' so they googled her and were very impressed with how really 'big' she is and considered it of course an honor and so they get familiar and learn all her stuff to do this. Sweet.

She says she chose them because her mom was such a huge Def Leppard fan and she grew up listening to all their stuff.

whats as unique about this combination as the different music styles are the age differences, Swift being a teen, and these guys well in their late 40s, so check these out, all performances, about 12 are in the related vids section of this link....

Always good to see the artificial genre boundaries of so-called 'style' and age being broken down IMO.

As John Lennon said 'There are only two kinds of music, a good noise and a bad noise'.

I saw the time that John Mellencamp was with Kenny Chesney on this show. If you don't know, they usually do each others songs and when John did Chesneys songs, his cover version sounded better.

Ooh, thanks for sharing. That's a pretty good show; often the pairings are weird but wonderful. I caught one years ago, with Kid Rock and Hank Williams Jr., and was really impressed, especially with Kid Rock. It was back in his "rap" days ("my name is Kiiiiiiiiiidddd, Kid Rock!") and it blew me away that he could actually sing. I think it's a great way to get a new look at artists.

I enjoy this show. It's interesting to hear how the different artists interpret each other's music. One of my favorites was the one with Wynonna Judd and Heart.

Little Big town and Lindsay Buckingham was superb! Def Leppard and Taylor Swift was good. But the best one I've seen so far was Emmylou Harris and Dave Matthews. Now that show was unforgettable.
But then again, I absolutely love Emmylou Harris. She could sing with ten yapping dogs and I would listen.
