Default Finished Wolves of the Calla

It took me a while, but I finally finished Wizard and Glass a week ago, so I moved on to Wolves of the Calla - OMG - i am still hyper 2 hours after finishing it this evening. I found Wizard and Glass a bit harder to get through (definitely did not hold my interest as well as Wolves, but enjoyable nonetheless) , but Wolves just flew by. I loved how Mr. King brought Father Callahan into the story , and I was biting my nails when Jake was observing Ben and Andy reporting to Finli O'Tego at the outpost , i was verbally freaking out when Gran-Pere told Eddie what the wolves are, and we had to find out towards the end what they actually were (I was reading at work during down time, and got several rude stares from my outburst!), and I loved all of the references to Mr. King's works, the light sabers from star wars, and even the golden snitch from harry potter.

I only have two books left till my journey ends, but this is one journey I'm glad I'm taking. I am having so much fun!

I agree! The Dark Tower series is excellent, but it is a Stephen King writing, isn't it. I just finished The Dark Tower Vll and I just want it to go on and on. Fortunately, there are a couple other stories which feature Roland of Gilead. In Everything's Eventual there is a short story titled The Little Sisters of Eluria. I enjoyed the read.

Wolves of the Calla is my own personal favorite of the DT series. I was speaking in "Calla Language" for weeks after I finished reading it. Sirousely. Like wishing people Long Days and Pleasant Nights, and yes - outside this forum.

Heh. I do the same thing. I say "thankee- sai", so I do.

It grows on you. Especially if you've re-read the books several time.

I also just finished Wolves. Frankly, I thought it was the lesser of the series so far. The ending is making it difficult for me to get into Song of Susannah. To date, #2 and #4 are my favorites of the series. I hope Song revitalizes my interest because I want to know what happens to Roland and the DT.

I really enjoyed this one and exploring the realms of the Calla The build up to the battle was brilliant and I also enjoyed learning about the origin of the wolves as it was kept in secrecy until the right moments. Roland's commala dance was a real surprise too, taught me that there's a lot to old long tall and ugly that is kept hidden from us.

It happened to me too and I freaked out for a while. I guess that we live the story together with Roland, aren't we?

There a few pages left to finish the book, and so far I find it amazing, it captivated me! I' m in the best part where the party with Wolves is finally about to begin!

I' ve had heard that there where some people who found the book boring, cause, as they say, they think that the plot is making a hole. I din't see anything like this, so I can totally disagree with them. It's a matter of personal taste.
