Definately read it. IT is one of my favorite Stephen King books. Everything about it is simply amazing. Just read it. I promise it won't be a waste of your time, and you'll be glad you did.

I absolutely could not read this book, i got about a fourth of the way into the book and can't even look at the poster because i have severe Coulrophobia (intense fear of clowns) so it sucks that there will always be that one SK book that i can't read

I have read IT once...when I was in 8th grade...wow, that was almost 10 yrs ago. It took me 2 months to read it, and I loved it. But it also took me about 2-3 tries before I could finish it, because I just kept getting so busy or I would read so little of the book and just lose interest. I have tried picking it up to read it again, and I have even gotten as far as just over 500 pgs into it, but I get to the point where I start to lose interest...but it is weird because I consider IT to be one of my favorite books. The reason for the interest factor for me though is because with my job (and when I was in college) I was working so many long days, and would have very little time to read. Now that I am able to read more (no more studying since I have graduated college!) I plan on reading IT again sometime soon.

Like I said...IT is one of my favorite SK books and I look forward to reading IT again and reading your opinions on IT.

Ok so I thought I would post this. I am in the middle of reading IT. Last night i was reading in bed and finished the part where Mike Hanlon wakes up from writing and finds the balloon tied to his lamp. I closed the book, looked over at my fiance who was already half asleep, and said, 'spooky stuff' as I put the book down. She is very afraid of clowns and frowns upon the fact that I am reading this book in bed. So her response was, 'Don't tell me. I don't want to have nightmares. I'm going to dream of bunnies and fairies and...balloons.' My heart stopped. I kid you not. I can't remember the last time I was so freaked out. Of all the things for her to say she said balloons, not even knowing that balloons are a part of It. So creepy. Had to share.

I first saw the movie when I was ten or thirteen- somewhere around there- enjoyed it, as a kid I did not judge horror movies. I believe those kind of things come with age. And then I read the book, knowing everything that happens- sort of a curse of seeing the movie first, and sort of not. It took me three months to read It, mainly because I am a slow reader. I just can't enjoy a book reading it really fast. But "It" is my favorite book, and I would suggest the book to read. It is a really good one.

I just ordered it last night, so i should have it in a day or two. From all the praise you guys have given it, i can't wait. I waited until the summer holidays to start reading it too, wise eh? As a matter of interest how long did it take you guys to read it first time?

It only took me a week exactly to finish it, of course I dedicated around 3 hours a day to reading it and I didn't have work or anything so it kept me occupied, if you have that sort of time to dedicate to reading it, it's really fun and makes the complete story last with you longer than just reading segments here or there for a month.
