For me it was Apt Pupil. Loved the story, but was extremely disappointed in the movie.

I was actually very disappointed with Dreamcatcher, because i read the book and thought the film would be great and travelled miles to just get a copy and then i thought it wasn't even that great. It was okay, but not good.
The Running Man.
Riding the bullet.
That is BY FAR the worst ever.
The Mangler for me
Cujo. Great book, so so movie. First, they didn't tell the dogs side of the story, and the kid survived. Don't get me wrong I don't enjoy the fact the kid didn't make it, but it was a critical part of the story.
Hmmm, tough to say. The Mangler was bad. Dreamcatcher was disappointing too. I'd have to say the Salem's Lot remake. The changes were obvious ploys to make the story more contemporary.
'Salem's Lot - the David Soul original - What a load of rubbish (obviously i have taken into consideration that its an old film but so is Evil Dead and that was kick-ass)
The Shining - I didn't like the film as it concentrated too much on Jack and not enough on Danny, the little boy - Danny was the one who had 'the gift' in the story but Kubrick practically re-wrote the story for the flicks.
My advice is obviously DONT watch any of the film adaptation until you have read the novel(la).
Actually looking forward to seeing Cujo, now that i have read it i can watch the movie from an objective point of view - even though people have told me its shockingly bad i feel I'd like to see Tad live as the book is sooooo SAD![]()
It, Apt Pupil (agree with you karen--awesome story, disappointing adaptation), Riding the Bullet, and Desperation!
