Question Help! Cujo, Firestarter or Dark Half?

    Hi All,

i have just finished reading Cell and, as i am on a mission to read all his works back-to-back, was wondering which one from collection i have amassed I should read next?

    I' thinking maybe:
    Cujo
    Firestarter
Dark Half heard this one was vey scary indeed

Others i own which i haven't read are:

    Eyes of the dragon
    Dolores Claiborne
    Lisey's Story
    Hearts in atlantis
    Skeleton Crew
    4 Past Midnight

Any comments on which one to read next are gratefully appreciated but please no spoilers

I have read lots of his other novels, really want to get DT series but was hoping to work my way through the older books first.

    Thanks, Natalie

    Hi,

Well, you've a lot of great books in front of you.

Out of the ones you've mentioned Lisey's Story is my personal favourite but I wouldn't necessarily suggest you start there.

You could read them in chronological order or you could say eeny meeny, miney....

Sorry not to be more helpful, but you'll enjoy them whatever you choose IMO.

    Long days and pleasant nights

I confess too that if it has Stephen King on the cover you cant go wrong with any of them . Why not just close your eyes and pick one at random , each ones a treat

Well, pick any one of them, sooner or later you will read all of them anyhow, right ?
But, if you don`t want to do so, out of the collection that you have right now, and right after reading Cell - maybe Firestarter doesn`t sound like a bad choice.

Of the three you originally mentioned, I've only read two (Cujo and The Dark Half) Cujo was a much more human story, but I found it to be a little boring. By virtue of what the story is about, there was not a lot of opportunity for action. (Most of it takes place in a car)

The Dark Half was the very first Stephen King book that I read, so that holds a particular fondness for me, and I remember it being very good, even though I have read it more than five years ago.

Of the others you have listed, I can't be of much help. I thought The Eyes of the Dragon, Dolores Claiborne and Lisey's Story were his worst three books.

On the other hand, I'm currently reading Four Past Midnight and I am absolutely loving it.

In the end, though, I don't suppose it matters much. If you plan on reading them anyways, I might try going in order of release date.

    Hello,

They're all quite good- you can't go wrong with any of those choices. My personal fave is Firestarter and then Cujo but I'm a little biased-I like his older work better.

Put all the titles in a hat and reach in...

Firestarter is my personal favourite of these.I've reread it a couple of times and with each read I enjoy it more and more.

Liseys Story is one of my fave. So that I recommend you to read. Cujo was also really good.

Cujo and The Dark Half are two very good bites. Both are quick reads, and you can always fill in with one of the shorts from a compilation if you want a change of scenery.

You'll enjoy the trip, any way you make it. We've all had a different itenerary....
