Here in my small part of Oregon we have the Strawberry Festival, the Corn Festival and we also have the Lamb and Wool Fair. I have been to Lamb and Wool Fair, but could not bring myself to try the lamburger. The Corn Festival is great! Free corn on the cob!!! I didn't make it to the Strawberry Festival this year, but they have free strawberry shortcake. Yummy!

As an aside, I tried some award winning Hawaiian noodles with veggies at a local Farmer's Market and it was a fabulous lunch! The pan fried noodles had broccoli, mushrooms, edamame, carrots, zucchini (green and yellow), bean sprouts, cabbage, spinach, peas and baby corn in it! It earned its title, for sure.

    Default Maine stuff

There's a 'Strawberry Festival' down in Berwick every year, which is always fun and tasty. There's a 'Clam Festival' up in Yarmouth, which I've had a lot of fun at in the past too. Up in Rockland and Rockport, they have a 'Lobster Festival', which is a totally yummy food to center a festival around.

Asparagus Festival in May, Strawberry Festival in June, Garlic Festival in later summer (to the south). My favorite are the fruit stands: strawberries and cherries but also peaches, plums, etc.

Well, if you're from my area, you'd better like fish, chowdaaah and lobstaah!! That's all we seem to have cook off's for, LOL! Maybe I'd like fish a bit more if I didn't have to smell it all summer every time I drive down route 18, LOL! Send in the lobstaaahs!!

    (LOL'ing at Patinthehat, hehe!)

Mmmm... here on July 1st for Canada Day we have something called Folkfest. There's the Canada Day parade that ends at a community center, and they have booths and booths and booths of ethnic food of every kind. Usually they try to bring in dancers and entertainers for the mainstage. I always went for the Hungarian food. I'm not sure how to spell it, but it sounds like lesh-koo and it's homemade egg noodles with hot pepper rings in it. Have a dish of that with some homemade Hungarian sausage, a bun and a huge drink to try to put out the fire and it's divine...
