    Hi,

AWSS (And What Spidey Said) - exactly.

And what DTKT said about the comics as well, plus Robin Furth's invaluable Concordance, Bev Vincent's The Road To The Dark Tower, and a re-read of all the books with connections (see the main site) in the light of DT.

    Long days and pleasant nights

Do what most of us did and go back to the beginning!!! You will discover things you forgot or rushed through to get to the end.

I also just finished the Dark Tower - enjoyed the whole saga and wasn't really surprised about the ending - the more he climbed, I thought uh-oh, sort of know what's at the top - it couldn't really end any other way. I was also just a tad disappointed that the Mordred battle was over just a little too quickly, and as for Oy, well pass the eyedrops.

i agree with pretty much all of you i think....my initial reaction to the ending was not a good one...lol...but then i turned around and perused all of Stephen's other books with connections to DT and after that i reread the entire series with a different perspective...now i don't see how it could have ended any other way and satisfied both writer and reader

[QUOTE=Drawn to Ka-tet;301581]I also suggest reading Hearts In Atlantis and Insomnia to get some closure.

This is a very good suggestion--especially Hearts in Atlantis. I read Hearts in Atlantis when it first came out, and since I finished the Dark Tower series this month, picked up "Hearts" for a re-read. It gave me some closure; I didn't realize how fond I was of Father Callahan and Eddie, and then Jake and Oy really broke my heart. Actually I still need closure on Jake .

Just finished my first DT read!

I think it's harrowing and frightening to think Roland will be stuck going from the end back to the beginning of his journey (hopefully now with the right "key", the horn).

Overall I thought it was an amazing read, also with connectors thrown in... The Stand, IT, Insomnia, The Talisman etc... What an amazing universe SK has created.

I also like that the DT made me think about life and death in a way I hadn't before.
Also, I hope that the rumors of DT8 are true, and am already drooling on my keyboard at the prospect.

Now onto Just After Sunset to bide time til Nov 10 when I get to watch sai King at the Times Talks Event! Be jealous!

I cannot recall ever being so upset by the death of a character in a fiction book. I sobbed and sobbed, and almost didn't want to go on and finish the epic tale. Jake's final death was close, but Oy....oh Oy how I miss you! How large your heart was, how loyal and clever you were!

I kind of liked the ending. Some time I oughtta reread the series though. And I'd also like to listen to the audio books...
