Take a break for a few days and then think about the journey you just read about. I think you'll feel better about it.

I know exactly how you are feeling. The ending is quite the shocker, isn't it?
At first, I hated it. Then afterwards, I made my piece.
You're welcome to read my thread ''Dark Tower ending - my change of heart.'' It shares how I found closure on the matter.

Don't be sad, remember it's all about the journey. Give it a while, read it again; you'll catch so much more the second time around-to me the ending was perfect.

The ending left me feeling drained and unsatisfied.. It felt rushed somehow and main characters were falling left and right rather unceremoniously Eddie, Jake and Oy. Would Susannah really have left when she did? She was connected to Mordred. I can appreciate that the Gunslinger had to face the tower alone, but I thought the family of Eddie, Jake ,Susannah and Oy would all continue to the end. The addition of Patrick seemed too convenient at the end, somehow the final battle anticlimactic. I finished almost 3 weeks ago and have not read anything since. Mr. King certainly made me care and strangely enough about a little creature named Oy. Go figure I shed many tears over him.

My feelings, too, after I was done, but then how else could it have ended. Ka is a wheel. You will be okay. It just takes a little time. In the meantime, Sai King has a collection of short stories titled Everything's Eventual with a story titled The Little Sisteres Of Eluria, which features Roland of Gilead, if you need some more time with him.

I agree with Ben E Gas, a few days of thinking about it and it may look a little better to you.

I also suggest reading Hearts In Atlantis and Insomnia to get some closure.

And have you found the Marvel Dark Tower comics yet? There is so much back story in them. I think you'll get a lot of of them.

Long days and pleasant nights Sai.

Having read the books as published, it was a long journey. But always remember, it is the journey, not the destination. Many of us have re read the books, I've taken the journey four times and with each the ending is only as it should have been.
