Default How to stand out at a book signing...

Dana Jean and I were discussing (privately) how to stand out at the "Under the Dome" book signing, because no one wants to blend in with the crowd, right? The problem is, how do you do this without crossing the line and getting carted away by security?

We've all read about how Stephen King complimented Cowboy's wife on the terrific ensemble she wore in Boston. So maybe, I thought, clothes are the key. Pink is a particularly flattering color on me, so I thought I'd wear this:

What do you think? I figure if I wear this, and say something like, "Our lives, and minds, and our very souls, were linked from the moments of our conceptions and will remain so until we die together accidentally in an ancient ritual involving wine, Junior Mints, and a Slap Chop," he will be both touched and impressed.

Or should I just go for it and do something dramatic?

I think it would depend upon where the signing was held. In some areas, this outfit might not get a second glance, but he'd know you didn't read On Writing because of your invitation to share wine.

That is you girl. Simply smashing, maybe you should add a feather boa. That is what separates us from the animals the ability to add accessories.

The old lampshade on the head trick should be worth something.

I'm going to wear my logo jersey again. I think over all I'm weird enough looking to stand out a bit no matter what.

We really need to organize this year if we can and hit the place in a mass.

How about wearing our Constant Reader or SKMB Tee Shirt? That should catch his eye. Have till November to order them and we'd be making a nice donation to The Haven Foundation- something to make Sai King happy.

You could order one in Pink , Susan

    Hi,

    Well, you da man, Matt!

Speaking from thousands of miles away, the job you did last year on the Three Kings helped the rest of us enjoy it immeasurably IMO.
