I tried to read Dark Tower VII without reading the books I should have read.
Is that why it didn't make sense?

reading a series in order is generally the logical thing to do.

LOL! Yeah, just reading it from the beginning can be a bit confusing. I just started re-reading it myself. It's been at least 15 years since I read The Gunslinger.

Ya that is your mistake. I remember once my Grandmother bought me the second book "The Drawing of Three" when I was in the hospital when I was 15. I read it not really realizing it was part of a series (I was new to King then) and I had to put it down. I remember trying to read the Gunslinger about 2-3 years before that now and I had to put that book down also because I could not understand what the hell was going on.

I guess I wasn't old enough, now I am starting on the third book and I can't put them down.

Absolutely start at the beginning! Not only are you missing an awesome read with every word but yea you really have to get to know these guys and there quest
