Default Ghost Brothers of Darkland County

    Hi,

I just read an extract from John Mellencamp's web site in Lilja's Library which states that the intent is to release it as a book and CD to coincide with it's premiere in Atlanta next year.

He also states that T-Bone Burnett is the Musical Director, which I think is wonderful news; I've long held the opinion that he should do that 'many other functions' role for the DT movie.

I last saw him playing guitar with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - what a talent that man has!

Anyone else looking forward to what I believe could be a completely new direction both for Sai King and for the stage musical?

    Long days and pleasant nights

    Yes, John!
I think a Book and CD published in conjunction with the musical's premiere would be the perfect storm of music and fiction.
There's no chance of me getting to Atlanta for the musical- but if it came to Boston or even NYC, I'd be there.
So, the book and CD would satisfy me!

And may YOU have twice the number, Sai.

Thanks for the info John. I am really looking forward to this! I am sure it will be wonderful. I will definately purchase the book/cd. If there are and appearances near the West Coast I will definately try to attend!

I'd asked Steve yesterday if I could post any of the information he was telling me about the project but he said it's not ready to go public yet. Be assured things are happening behind the scenes but won't be playing out quite the way they were intended at one time.

They also said the CD would not be a cast recording but main stream artist doing the songs. Any word on who will be on the CD Ms. Mod.

Steve has told me who has signed on but as I mentioned, I cannot pass along any info at this time.

    Hi,

Ooooh, you're such a tease, Ms Mod LOL.

I await 'info' with my breath bated!

Not trying to tease, just don't want to ignore the question but can't really give an answer. That pesky confidentiality thing that I have to adhere to, you know.

    Hi,

Indeed, Ms Mod, and for which we very much respect you.

Last year you posted a short synopsis of the storyline; could you please post that again, so we can endlessly speculate on who might be suitable and/or likely to guest on the album please?

For the multi-award winning (and one of my all-time favourite soundtracks!), Oh Brother. Where Art Thou?, T-Bone Burnett chose to work with Emmylou Harris and Ralph Stanley amongst others, and he also chose to work with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss because of his respect and admiration for them both (he did a great interview on Jools Holland's show in the UK).

And John Mellencamp (a most accomplished songwriter IMO)has worked with Pete Seeger (congrats on his recent 90th birthday recently!) and Bruce Springsteen recently.

    Long days and pleasant nights
