You have a million dollars that you need to donate. Where does it go?

    Hi,

Very tricky one, as there are nearly 6 1/2 billion deserving causes before we even start talking about animals.

I wouldn't know where to start, but I'm looking forward to reading the posts here.

    Long days and pleasant nights

I'll donate it to my bank account.

My money would go to animal rescue. Especially an organization that deals with pit-bulls.

A local no-kill animal shelter or the ASPCA, Defenders of Wildlife, World Wildlife Federation, etc.

Yeah, I think I'd definitely donate some of it to my own bank account. LOL

But, if I "need" to donate it, a very large portion would go to the Susan G. Koman Foundation for breast cancer research. I'd also donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Special Olympics, the World Wildlife Fund, and the Marines Toy-for-Tots Foundation (to name a few, but there are so many great charities!).

I'm with John. There are so many deserving causes it would take very careful and cautious thought. It's just a million, you say???

At this point in the game, I'd split it between lupus research and a hospice house. The local hospice house struggles to have enough money to help people die comfortably. They need a boost. Lupus research is an obvious enough choice for me.

When Kim said "local food bank," I had to nod my head. Actually I think I'd keep it all local, donating to food banks, my church's Good Samaritan program, and maybe half to our local library for renovation and summer programs for children.
