    Default What a great idea!

So, some of you may know the renowned author David Baldacci, whuil recently on his site, I saw he was giving away signatures. You would sign up your name online, and you would receive in the mail about a week later a little care with his signature on it and you could put it on your favorite Baldacci novel. Maybe S.King could do this. I know he has a lot to do, but he could make it from, for example, May 15-May 30 as the sign up date. All he has to do is scribble his name onto a little card like Baldacci did and thousands of fans would love it. Yay or Nay?

ALL he has to do is sign his name a thousand times. Oh, is that ALL he has to do? Well, he's already done something like this by mail but instead of a card it was a book that you sent to him and he signed it. I unfortunately didn't get on the list but I'm not complaining. I got some siggy's at signings.

ps. Don't forget about SKT THIS Wednesday, folks! That's Stephen King Trivia where you can.......win valuable prizes!

why not sign something once, scan the signature and use it?

maybe on soft paper it would "look" fake (coz u can't see the grooves of the pen on the paper), but on harder paper it's virtually foolproof. Unless you know in advance.

He's been there, done that and has changed his priorities since his accident and getting closer to retirement age. He is at the point where he can step back from doing the autographing and appearances and spend more time with his family which has now extended to several grandchildren. He's earned that. It doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate his fans but his way of showing that is to continue to write the books and stories and do appearances and book signings on a less hectic schedule than in years past.

As much as I'd love to have an autograph I'd hate to see him have to go through all of this, especially if he has done it before. I mean, heck, he's entertained me for enough years, he has earned a well deserved break in my eyes! I figure hey, maybe I'll luck out like a friend of mine, an artist Frankie B. Washington. Frankie met Stephen, somewhere I forget if it was Boston or New York, and spoke with him. Frankie asked Stephen if he could wait a moment for him to get his book so he could sign it for him, and of course, Mr. King said yes. So now Frankie has a personally autographed copy from a chance meeting! How lucky can you get??!

What I'm really hoping is that maybe Stephen sees me someday and asks ME for MY autograph, and I get his at the same time, LOL!! Hey, one can dream, can't they.....

All due respect, I know you know Steve the best, but I sincerely doubt there is a retirment age when it comes to writers.
Sure, book signings may stop, but those guys don`t stop ( writing ) `till they drop, so to say.

For Steve, that means working on only one book a day instead of two.

could that possibly be a award for the office trivia? Maybe if you get like 100% of the questions on all the items as a special prize.
