Love Dan Brown, just finished The Da Vinci Code, looking forward to Angels and Demons. Love John Grisham read all of his.
hi, i love grisham read most of his books, only read 'drop shot' by harlan coben but really enjoyed it, dan brown is just ok for me and don't really like patterson at all. haven't read any meyer yet.
Dan Brown- amuses me
Harlan Coben- don't think i have read him
James Patterson- absolute waste of trees
Stephenie Meyer- not a great wordsmith, but i'm enjoying the twilight series
John Grisham - have read a few - not one of my favs
Dan Brown tries hard to write a good book. He succeeds in writing an interesting, exciting story and fails in the writing.
Haven't read a thing by Harlan Coben.
I could go without reading another book by James Patterson.
Stephanie Meyer writes books for teenage girls - not my cup of tea. Not to mention, I began to read Twilight and Stephen was right... she isn't a great writer.
John Grisham is off and on with me. I hated A Painted House, and thought nearly everything he wrote in the last ten years was mediocre. His early stuff, Skipping Christmas, A Time to Kill (which is "early stuff", but worth mentioning) and his non-fiction book The Innocent Man were ranging from good to great with me.
I've stayed away from all of them except John Grisham. I read The Chamber (oh the follies of youth) but it wasn't terribly noteworthy in my opinion and I haven't gone back for seconds.
I've only read a couple of Grisham's books and that's it from the list. Grisham is an OK writer, but it's a "been-there-done-that" issue for me. Legal language and all that court room/lawyer stuff gets old for me after a while.
Dan Brown- to me, just cheap writing, don`t like it.
Harlan Coben- read ALL of his work, if you want a really good thriller ( as oppossed to Browns cheap thrills ) read " Tell no one " and " The Woods " - absolute heartstoppers.
James Patterson- the absolute worst in the bunch.
Stephanie Meyeer- see above comment for JP.
John Grisham- excellent writer, many books are really good.
Forgot to add:
Dennis Lehane and Ian Rankin beat all of those guys, IMO.
