Good SK for Maine Trip

Hi Guys,

I will be going to Maine next week for a nice long vacation on the coast. I plan on bringing a few of Uncle Stevie's books and I wondered which would be the best. I am looking for some gripping page-turners with loads of plot.

So far my favorite of King's that I have read have been:
IT, Tommyknockers, Misery, Dolores Claiborne, Needful Things, Green Mile, and Bag of Bones.

Here is the list of books I have on hand to take to Maine:
--Dead Zone
--Dark Half
--Christine
--From a Buick 8
--Dreamcatcher
--Rose Madder
--Cujo

I would suggest taking Dead Zone, Cujo, Dark Half, or Dreamcatcher with you, as those all take place in Maine (at least partially). Out of those, my favorties are Dead Zone and Cujo. Christine and From a Buick 8 both oddly take place in Pennsylvania (any reason the two car books both take place in Pennsylvania?) and I don't remember where Rose Madder is set, though it probably is Maine.

I read Cujo whilst on holiday and found it great - you should take that! I also read From a Buick 8 on holiday.

i liked cujo and christine the most, buick 8 was my least fav. in rose madder im pretty sure it was never mentioned where it took place but if im wrong someone let me know please lol

I recommend The Dark Half. This book has great characrters and definitely plot driven.

If it were me, I would take Cujo and The Dark Half, if, for no other reason, both books give generous descriptions of the Maine countryside, as I recall.

All are good choices, and you won't be disappointed in any choice, but I'd want these two above the others on your list.

My favorite is now and will Always be "The Stand". I would read it daily. Actually wore copies out of that book. And to Mr. Kind I say "Thankie Sai". Did I write that right? Oh, memory shouldn't fail me So early and often. It's a sad thing getting older, it is.
