Actors that come to mind while reading The Long Walk

Just began reading this book after waiting to get to it for so long and I'm already seeing visions of actors in the charatcers shoes..

Garrity - Ryan Gosling
Stebbins - Ben Foster
McVries - James Franco
The Major - Powers Boothe


who agrees? I cannot picture anyone else in those sunglasses than Powers. He has such a presence that look that is intimidating and yet admirable. A perfect fit I think..

anyone else got any other ideas?

I always imagine who would play the parts in any story I read, but it's been 10 years or more since I read The Long Walk. I can't remember who I had pegged for those roles, sorry.

i had robert duvall when he was in apocalypse now in my head for the major when i was reading the long walk.
