    Question True Blood--Too Much Noodiness?

    RE: HBO's series True Blood

I received a primary copy of the First-Season from an unknown and mysterious source, and no I am not burning them and passing them on.

But I am digging on it, the slow build of the story, Anna Paquin's tooth gap (I think I'm in love with her now, Rogue, meh), the moral questions, great character dev...everything except the sex scenes.

Oh, and that brunette that shows up and snags Sookie's brother is scrumptuous.

But even still...the noodie bits...are almost like a Lustbader novel, or a 'Conroy-ish' overdescription.

Don't get me wrong, I dig the noodie bits, but when it interrupts the story, NO thanks. I _may_ just easily be distracted by The Nakeds, so all of this is opinion.

Anyone else into this series? I've never had HBO at home so I don't know if this is an international thing. Something to look into, though. I think Season Two starts in a couple months.

Rent the first few episodes from Blockbuster or Netflix. You might like the show. Cheerio!

I agree. I don't think those parts help the plot in anyway. The part where Sookie lost her virginity should have been "less is more". But Jason is a total sex addict, but I don't need to see him naked in every frame. Overkill. But I still love the show. Would probably love the books better if I took the time to read them. I am glad someone is writing adult vampire books, no offense to Stephanie Meyers or her legion of Twilight fans, since Anne Rice has retired to Christian and other writing.

    Ahhhh!!!
I love the show ... & love the nudity. What's wrong with being stimulated while being titillated by the concepts of vampires & changelings? I have seen every episode to date... (even watched the internet episode called Blood Copy leading up to the premier of True Blood)

HBO Series are fantastic and hold nothing back from the viewer ... there is another show on right now that may hold better to your moral values called the No.1 Lady's Detective Agency ... this show is fantastic as well & done with the up most taste & class.

    Thanks, folks.

To me the STORY is, well, the king. That's why you wrote or liked something from Chapter One.

Too much gore, too much sex...I love both, in the extreme (mainstream), but if ya got a good story going, don't interrupt it just because you had a great idea for a "How about I try........

I love this show. The new season starts June 14th I believe. If you like the show you may want to try the books by Charlaine Harris I think they're even better, but I really like Alan Ball who is doing the show. I'm pretty sure the next installment in the books comes out like May 5th or something too. Can't wait for the next book, and season 2 to come out.

I tried watching it, and the sex scenes really put me off. They were so obnoxiously placed, as though trying to lure in total perverts. They had absolutely no place in anything, and watching the expressions on some of their faces was really disturbing. Totally over the top. It grossed me out, and I can enjoy a good sex scene (haha). Those were not good.
