    Default Planet Narnia

    Hi,

There was an BBC program the other night called 'The Narnia Code' devoted to the discoveries by Michael Ward in his book 'Planet Narnia', published 2004 (I think).

Apparently the seven books of Narnia are all tied to the seven planets of mediavel and renaissance cosmology in strange ways (they included the sun and moon in these days).

The program was very well done and the arguments are fascinating, as were the dramatisations of Lewis and Tolkein together etc, but it was all a bit complex to put in a post, so I was wondering if anyone had actually read the book yet?

Sounds like a 'must-read' for a Narnia fan!

    Long days and pleasant nights

    Hi John,
I didn't catch the show....I wonder if it will be repeated?

I remember reading some of the Narnia books at school and remember with fondness Mrs Kinsey, (an old primary school teacher of mine) narrating The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe to us kiddies.
These are a collection of books I will get for my daughters library!

I will also keep a look out for Michael Wards book.....thanks.

i had started to read them to my girls but they were not as into it as i thought they would be(not enough blood i guess). the book could not hold my attention (maybe because i was reading cell and liseys story at the same time). i do plan on reading them but probably not until i run out of sk books to read. im sorry i could not be of help but since you always respond to mine i wanted to try to repay the favor. sorry.

Haven't heard of that. Seems interesting, though I'm skeptical about the subject, since Narnia had so much undisguised Christian ideology

    Thanks for the heads up!
I really loved those books when I was a kid. As I grew older the overly Christian themes became evident (and a bit of a turn-off), but now I just appreciate the series for what they are.

One of my proudest moments before my youth became clouded with thingsIortnattadone was land the role of Aslan the Lion in the Ouachita Little Theater's (located in Mena, Ar - recently devastated by an F-3 tornado, my prayers to all you folks) production of 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe'. I can remember the lights dimming at the end as I went into my little monolouge at the end. It still makes me peepers leak....

I've not read any of the Narnia books yet, but this does sound fascinating.
Wish I had seen the program as well.

I went to the BBC website & just missed the deadline for viewing from there - apparently you can do this for 7 days.

I would have liked to see this also
