Thinking about writing

Once I said 'there is an invention inside everyone' at a job interview. Lucent Technologies did not hire me. Obviously they were not interested in my inventive talents as much as management of their own initiatives. Years later I did invent something, but it was never manufactured or marketed to it's potential. This left me unfulfilled. Today, after reading and listening to Stephen King's 'On Writing', I am contemplating completing a work I have been working on for 20 years. I am not concerned with the selling aspect. It's the finishing of the tale and finding a medium to share my thoughts that is fixed in my mind.

My question is 'are the ideas that come to mind mine or is there a combined human conscious - a sharing of thoughts'. At times I have totally unique thoughts that seem to flow out and then at some future time an events unfold in the real world.

Hey, there's a LOT goes on in the real world. It's a very big and varied place. Little wonder that things happen occasionally that leave you with that disturbing feeling of deja vu, caused by a past thought of something vaguely similar.

I reckon your ideas are yours! Guard them carefully if you think they're any good.

When writing fiction I call that "catching it early" and there doesn't have to be any supernatural cause.
