Oops, congrats on finally getting your husband involved!
Congrats to you, mojo! And to your hubby for his new found good taste!
I've never had the pleasure of hearing an audiobook, but I hear Sai King has used them to "re-read" his Dark Tower 1-3 before starting on 4. He said they're great for researching the stories, because you can't just skip over parts when you're listening. The voice makes you pay attention to every line.
Wow, I just talked myself into trying an audiobook!!![]()
i wish my family and friends would read more life without a book is like no sunshine or rain on my face
Nothing can replace ones own imagination used while reading one of his books.
The Mist is excellent, it's not read by a narrator but told by the charcacters own voices. The Body and Shawshank redemption are very good as well
That's great!
I recently got my brother to read Salem's Lot for the first time,![]()
I have recently fallen in love with audio books. A friend of mine talked me into listening to The Dark Tower on disc, it took her all of 2 seconds to convince me to try it.
I had already read it but hearing it seemed to add an extra dimension, not just picking up the stuff I missed during the first read. I got that plus a bag of chips.
Frank Muller/George Guidall were great and I enjoyed every second of it.
I still haven't listened to a book I haven't read first but I'm going to try and see if I like it. I bet I will.
So anyhow congrats for getting your hubby started on Stephen King no matter the medium, he's quite rare and very well done.... bad humor... sad.![]()
I got my cousin's boyfriend interested in Sai King. He started with The Stand at Christmas and is now working through The Tower books. Maybe because he's young and impressionable (23) he took my advice without asking a question. My husband.......nope....not even interested in the audio books. Very frustrating. But to each his own I guess.
