Default Just Finished Reading The Waste Lands . . .

    OK,

I just finished reading The Waste Lands (3:15am EST). I am absolutely loving the series, but I just had to comment on the ending:

    HOLY CRAP!!!!!

How in the world did anyone stand the wait between books 3 and 4?!? I'm lucky that I can plow through the series one book after the other, but to have to wait almost 6 years between volumes with that cliffhanger ending - I would have gone completely insane.

On to Wizards and Glass. I have to know the outcome of the cliffhanger. Who needs sleep -- sleep is overrated!

    Hi,

    Aye, you're not wrong there!

It was a l-o-n-g six years indeed (*shudders at the memory*).

And then we had about the same again before Wolves of the Calla too.

    Long days and pleasant nights

Glad to hear that you're enjoying your journey to the Dark Tower. The Waste Lands is my favorite of the series. I'm almost at the end of book 6 now and looking forward to seeing how everything turns out by the end of book 7.

It was a long time. I kept re-reading the ones that I had waiting in anticipation.

    Hi,

Exactly, Cowboy, that's why I can't say with any certainty just how many times I've read DT (four straight through) because the first four took a hammering in the intervening years, especially Drawing, Waste Lands and Wizard.

    Long days and pleasant nights

I borrowed books 1 through 6 from the local library before I lucky enough to get the whole collection for my birthday last year and I had to wait 3 weeks for Song of Susannah which was hard enough to bear. I can't even begin to think about waiting 6 years!!!

Well I have to say I did not have to wait, I started reading the series after W&G had already been published, so I am luckier than those that waited between evey book but I did have to wait for the final three books, thanks to SK for finishing them all at one time, beacuse after his accident I reallt believed that I would never get to finish that awesome story.

Yep, it was terrible. The worst wait for me was between Wizard & Glass and Wovles of the Calla though, because King's accident happened between those novels.

I have to agree, I couldn't imagine waiting six years. I'm also just starting Wizard & Glass for the first time, and the story is really picking up in pace.

Yep, I was one of the unlucky people who had to wait for number 4 to come out. I read the Waste Lands about a year after it's release and I was hooked on the series from the start.
