    Default Hillsborough Remembrance

I hope that everyone spent a few minutes today thinking about those who died at the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989.

    Default Re: Hillsborough Remembrance

Hardly a story likely to be familiar to the majority of forum members, but Hillsborough is a football (soccer) stadium in Sheffield, England.

20 years ago, almost 100 supporters of Liverpool Football club were crushed to death when too many fans were allowed into one particular area of the stadium, causing fatal overcrowding.

Expert opinion appears to point the finger at the police for allowing an extra entrance gate to be opened and allowing supporters to flood through.

Rest in peace, one and all.
