    Default Harper's Island

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone watched the new CBS show "Harper's Island" last Thursday. I was interested because of the "and then there were none" type of show it was advertised as; plus, since I live in the Seattle area, I always enjoy seeing how we're portrayed and how landmarks are changed around. I found the characters pretty cliche and almost "cartoon-y." However, at least the deaths seem to be a little off the beaten path - death by propeller and death by leg chopping! I also heard it was already cancelled, but can't seem to confirm that. What do you think about this show?

i liked it. i doubt that CBS would cancel a show after 1 episode. 4 maybe. hope they don't cancel it midseason like they did with Pirate Master unexpectadly. heres to some more gruesome deaths.
i have heard people on TV.com talk about how gross the two deaths are but you don't see the first guy get decapitated, only blood in the water, and for the second it was dark so you can't see the guts and blood that well which i wouldn't call gross. and yet the deaths on CSI are grosser and nobody bats an eye.

i think its a fun concept for a show. i liked it cheesy as it was. there is also a viral website connected to it, harperglobe.com it was fun trying to guess who was going to go next and we all try to figure out the killer before the end this time its what we're supposed to do.

I had planned on watching it but we had severe weather that night so most of the show was taken up by the weatherpersons. I plan on getting on cbs.com and seeing if they have on their site to watch. It sounded interesting though.

I found myself having a hard time getting enthusiastic for a whodunit stretched out over three or four months. Maybe I'll try it out on DVD when the whole thing is finished.

Good to know I wasn't the only one watching it. I'm still only drawn to one or two characters - but have to admit I'm looking forward to more imaginative ways of their demise! Plus, I'm curious to know if that engagement ring will ever be found!

I have DVR'd this and will give it a try at some quiet time. I had heard even before the first show that it would not last.

I watched it and thought it was a bit cheesey also, but I still enjoyed it. I don't think the first episode had quite the "horror" element to it like it was advertised to have, but it could be because it was only the first episode. That had to lay some foundation in the first episode, but it needs to pick up some speed next week.

I did watch it. I'm a sucker for a cheesey mystery/scary film. I did, after all, enjoy the Evil Dead series. If I understand correctly, Harper's Island is only supposed to last a few months. I don't think that it was intended to be a long running series. I hope it at least lasts long enough to unveil the killer. Years ago, I remember that American Gothic was canceled quite early on. I was really disappointed because like I said before, I'm a sucker for those cheesey mystery/scary shows.
