    Default Stephen King hardcover books

Just thought i'd let you SKMBer's know that if you need some hard cover books of Steve's and you can't find them, you can always join a book club and get some of his earlier works for 20cents, depending on which site. I went to Doubleday and mystery guild and joined got all the hard covers i was trying to get to replace my paper backs. Draw back is you have to buy 5 more books. Not a problem for me , because i am always buying books.

I got almost all of my hardcover books from Bookman's, a used book store. I found that e-bay is another great place to get hard covers and limited editions.

Book Club Hardbacks have a very low resale value, as opposed to the collectible value of the actual Hardbacks. Hardbacks also have number lines for the print.

I haven't seen any difference with the ones from the book club and the actual hardbacks i bought when they originally came out. I have come across many in used books stores. I got the Bachman book hardcover and it looks the same as the original. I did get some from amazon.ca , old used for .40c the shipping cost me more than the book.

I tried to buy everything from Stephen in hardcover, but everything I found was either way too much money (40 euros for The Stand when the paperback was 10) or the state it was in left a lot to be desired (pages that were yellow, or the dust jacket that had stains all over it). So I'm going for the hardcover if I can find a decent copy, but otherwise I'll buy the paperback.

I don't know if there are Half Price Bookstores all over, but we have several in Indiana. You have to search them, but for example, I got hardcover Bag of Bones and The Stand Uncut in great condition both for about 15 dollars. They had several other SK HC there at that time too. It's like a huge bargain bin of books check it out if you have them near you!
