David Soul and `Salems Lot, or, The terror of a 9 year old boy

So one Halloween when was about 7 or 8, I watched the original `salems lot TV movie, and needless to say it scared the crap out of me. Its my personal favorite horror movie just because Mr Barlow at that age was intense, and my own concern about what to do just in case of vampires. Now, my father worked at a boston radio station, and from time to time he`d take me to work with him on slow days and we`d go out to each and such. So one day I was there and David Soul, the actor who plays Ben in the movie, happend to be in town promoting something. haha I laugh at it now, but I was so astounded and legitimately scared. My mother was there with me and she tried to explain how it was a movie and that he was an actor, then got an autograph from the man who had destroyed Mr Barlow.

Now that is cool, i had that experience reading the book, scared me silly, then i watched the movie and the vamps, crawling out scared me more. Just the thought eh! To bad David Soul doesn't act anymore he was good. I think he lives in Europe somewhere, at least he did the last time i saw an interview with him in it.

Watched "Salems Lot" on TV over Easter and still enjoyed it.

Loved this tv version and scared the crap out of me too. The scene where be waits for the body to come back as he makes a cross was simply brilliant.

You know what would have been really scary? If David Soul would have started singing. I bet this is what he was promoting. Barlow would have been the one running for his life. (shhhh, don't tell anyone, but I actually liked this song.)

Watched the movie when I was around 12, and that Danny Glick kid
floating outside the window had me scared out of my skin for the
longest time..slept wayyy under the blankets.(and a nite lite too)
