Default Scotland even older than previously thought

    Hi,

News today of archaeological finds puts the time of human habitation in Scotland back 3,000 years earlier than previously thought (to what's being called 'The Reindeer Age' apparently) to at least 15,000 years ago.

No wonder I called my 'fun band' the Stoned Aged Scots!

    Long days and pleasant nights

    LOL John

Parts of our old country are still stuck in those days, IMO.

If Scotland didn't exist, SK would invent it.

Even Pennywise wouldn't walk through Easterhouse on a Saturday night.

Well i think Winnipeg might have you beat JD, they keep finding dinosaur bones there. One of the places in Canada where they find a lot.

    Hi,

I should stress that I was only referring to human occupation; we have some of the most ancient rocks on the planet, myself included.

As Billy Connelly said, mimicking our early settlers - 'This way lads, it's even colder and wetter up here!'.

I live ten minutes away from the Fossil Grove, a marvellous collection of huge fossilized trees, 350 million years old and a World Heritage site.

It's very therapeutically humbling to be in the presence of something 350 million years old IMO.

I actually misread this, and thought that it was a new thread entitled...

"John Dalglish even older than previously thought!"
