    Question Sitting On Writing

I'm actually sitting on a copy of 'On Writing' as I type this, and cackling like Rhea. It's just funny to be sitting on that book as I discuss the subject.

Ain't no disrespect intended, and I doubt Mr. King would take it as such.

Something I wrote yesterday, before reading all the "what was" and "why did" posts across the various message board threads here was just the following, and I think it holds potent water:

***The best writers (I think) have always had--and leave the reader with--more questions than answers. You have to trust someone that's willing to invest time reading your work. Leave some holes. Let _them_ fill them in. If 200 people read it, the end result is 201 different stories. That's pretty dang cool.***

I'm just thinking. Thought I'd try a First post, already had a few allowed replies to other threads that were accepted by Mods.

    Haunted,

I have read 'On Writing' twice. Someone indefinitely borrowed it from my local library, so I had to buy my own copy.

In an important way it truly is a seat booster.

I was born with a mis-shaped head and few functional neck muscles, so I require angular assistance when I sit at the computer.

    I am now completely lying.

I did forget to add the last part of my post:

***Sometimes even smartfolk want a plain old soap opera. Weave the story into some social commentary, add some sex, bad language, and _some_ violence(heh)....

I would agree with your theory, i walk around and think about how a story would end if this were this way and if that would have been done. I do like a happy endings though when ever possible. I don't like to be ramroded through a story and then it ends badly, to much death and destruction bothers me.

You trip me out BJS! I was about to ask how tall you are and wondered if your feet show on your driver's license!
