Read the book then watch the movie.....I find in his adaptations, the book tends to be a little better. Enjoy!

I say: always read the novel first!

It's much scarier when you don't know how things look and when you're up in the 'reading-world' and you don't know what is gonna happen...

Plus: you want to start with the original idea...the basis, don't you?

    Hi,

Oh, the book by a mile IMO.

Not that the film is bad or anything, in fact it's got some neat scenes, but....

Do it in the order you suggest and I think you'll agree.

    Long days and pleasant nights

Hi, I own both as well. I am one of those types that simply must read the book first. If I see a movie first then sometimes I'm not quite so apt to read the book as the ending is already spoiled for me. In my humble opinion, while the movie was quite good, I prefer the book over it. I just like the fact that the books tend to be much more involved and you are able to get a better back story in the books I think. Either way though, I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy both no matter which you decide upon first. Happy reading/watching!

I've only read the book. I thought it was okay.... from what I've heard the movie left out some plot points so if you want to get them then read the book.

IMHO always the book. The images you can create in your mind from Mr. King's words are 'way better' than any cinema.

Being that the book was written (and released) before the movie, I'd read the book first. I always try to experience things in the right order. I feel that's the way the creators meant it to be.
