Sorry that I can't help you. Been years since I read that.
I, however, recently walked 105 miles in a week (I couldn't do it in a day)...and I discovered a great many truths.
A truth given away is worthless...a truth discovered, priceless.
Go buy another copy. I intend to. My local library is woefully underKinged.

I just bought the book yesterday. Can you give me more info? How do you see it in your mind? I am ready to look for it if you can give more info.
i looked at the story again, my notes, few though they be, and nothing about truths. not saying it's not there, just didn't strike my fancy. seems like it'd be near the end of the book, near the end of the story, something profound like that. noticed edgar freemantle's four rules for success in another read, and edgar kindly said (feel free to take notes) and you betcha, i can take a hint, so i did, take notes i mean, but alas, they're not related to this. i hope someone can answer the question or that tragic losses will come back and post the ref. here.![]()
The quote is roughly a good meal, a good lay and a good s@#t.I dont remember the exact words or who said it
What astrange coincidence.I have started re-reading"the Bachman Books".I read your question, picked up the book and at my page-marker found your answer. It can be found in chapter 4:-"Love is a fake!"Olson was blaring."There are three great truths in the world and they are a good meal, a good screw, and a good ****, and that's all!"
(At my age I agree with at least two of them)
I just finished it today while out tanning! Woohoo.
Is that "a good S-Word"?

p.s. I find it ironic that cursing is not allowed on a board dedicated to the master of creative cursing (i.e. Foul****ery, Christ in a Handcart, **** Weasle, and other such off color novelties).
