Yes, I did notice the disclaimer. But I am confused. This looks like a fully completed cover. Why bother creating a placeholder cover? This is the first time I'm seeing such a thing. For example, when a new Harry Potter book was put up for pre-order on Amazon, the cover was also a placeholder, and it was a plain black rectangle with the trademark Harry Potter logo and the title. This is different. This looks like a real cover, and I like it a lot. I'm hoping your saying "it is not the cover" means only some minor details are absent. I think it's perfect.
The final cover was not ready before the sales catalog had to be released. Scribner will be releasing the artwork for the cover soon.
If I'm not mistaken, there was a 1960s Twilight Zone story about people living under a dome. Could SK's story idea have been based on that?
im glad thats not the cover.
I'm excited to see what the real cover looks like, hopefully it fits in well on the shelf.I have to say, having a fully designed placeholder cover is a bit odd.
I hope the real cover is similar to the catalog image. It is very subtle, in a way that seems to act as a surface waiting to be broached. Not a fan of that orange font though.
I'm hoping that the one in the catalog is close to what the real one will be, except for having a better font and color for the title and author's name.
