I'd sent the listing to Scribner and their Legal Dept. had it removed. I did not get an answer about the black cover lettering yet.

My cover came with black lettering instead of white. Is this rare?
does it say somewhere in the eleven or so pages here if that town on the cover is an actual place? or a conglomeration of stuff? no such place?
It doesn't say so in the book but Chester's Mill is a fictional town which Stephen based loosely on the real town of Bridgton, Maine.
The signed copy from the TimesTalk has the black/dark grey lettering and the reading copy I received from Amazon is with white lettering.
Interesting oddity, reminds me of the Insomnia book cover in a way. I like the dark lettering much more though, so I'm glad it's on the signed copy.
Actually the authors note says he started the book back in 1976.
