Default Pet Semetary - Gage puppet?

Iīve got a question. I read last year or so that they used a puppet for the scenes where Gage comes back from the dead, because they didnīt want Miko Hughes to play those cruel scenes. Is that true? And where can I find a picture of this puppet?

Iīm also interested in Behind the scenes footage. I have an old VHS copy and there are no outtakes or behind the scenes footage on it.

    Thanks for your help.

I don't live in US, but my brazilian DVD has no outtakes. But it's partially true, Miko did most of the parts where he's zombie, but in scenes like Gage falling from the attic, for example, they had to use a puppet, they wouldn't, of course, threw Miko from the attic hoping that Dale Midkiff was quick enough to get him.

Ya know I've always wondered about that. I sure as heck wouldn't want one of my kids running around with a scalpel hacking people up, no matter how much money you paid for that, or even if it WAS a Stephen King movie, LOL! If only I was shorter.......

Had a quick look around and apparently there is a special edition of Pet Semetary available on DVD which has 3 behind the scenes featurettes, 2 of which deal with the look of the film and special effects. Not sure if theres anything about Gage but might be worth a look.

Oh cool! Thanks, I'll have to see if they have it on amazon! Though like most movies made from books, I did like the book better.

When I read the book and they were going up to bury the dang cat, I was saying to myself, nope I wouldn't do it! How many of you would have gone up there and buried your cat anyway?? I'm just curious?! Now I admit, I might have gone up there with my equipment and tried to capture ghostly evidence, but bury my cat up there?? No way!!!

Has anyone ever wondered whether he has strange memories of the filming, of course it wouldn't be so scary behind the scenes, but its still a chilling concept for a child to comprehend.. I wonder if he ever had nightmares...hehe, because I saw this movie when I was about 12, and it left me alittle afriad of dark paths leading into the woods..

hehe...I'm sure he doesn't remember much. I'm not sure how old he was when it was filmed, but the memories are probably covered and pushed back into his mind with things from teen and adult years by now. But after reading this, i can't help but giggle when I pass by semataries...heh.

oh, by the way...where can I get IT and Pet Sematary on dvd or vhs? I've tried looking everywhere and most places don't have them, well at least not here in my area around Chicago.

I don't know Chicago so I can't tell you a local place other than to suggest a used book store that sells movies too.
I know you can find it on Amazon.com, they have freekin' everything.
