    Default Misery - The Play

I am now just remembering this but around 2005 I went to a play based on King's novel, Misery.

I was so psyched to go and see it and when it was over I was very dissapointed..

All the elements were there, the lights dimmed and there was the bed.. with Paul Sheldon asleep, and then Annie Wilkes came out and the misery began.. BUT .. i'm not sure if this was the director's doing or the actresses own thing but they made Annie Wilkes character comical.. of all things, comical does not come to mind when I think of Annie Wilkes.. but in the end, it had its good moments, it tried to get a little dark... but it wasn't working

this btw, was held at the Biltmore Hotel stage in Coral Gables, FL..

Does anyone know if there has there been any other King novels adapted as a play?

Hey I'm just seeing this posting. I booked tickets last night to go watch 'Misery' on stage in the local theatre. I'm hoping it's so much better than what was experienced above.

8th May - check back for a review, if I'm allowed!

Misery has not be a play here. But it was on drama here in Finland few years ago. I didn't go and watch it because I didn't knew they show it here.

We produced the play written by Simon Moore, translated by the german author Frank Küster. But we play a mix of the original book and the play. So our guests loved our play, because it gives the vision beeing in cinema and watching the living Annie and Paul.
