    Talking A Haunting in Conneticut

Saw this movie this weekend thought it was pretty good (not gr8 or very good--pretty good).

Liked the Necromancy tie in- aka Lovecraft, Necronomicon peeps will understand--movie does not explain to well that piece I thought

few typical boo moments (I no scare easy abut doid get my wife and younger daughter)

    thoughts?

It figures, they don't make them like they used to. Have to wait until on DVD anyways my daughter hates horror movies.

I thought this was going to be typical teenage fodder, but was pleasently surprised. It didn't have the flair of some other ghost stories like The Others or Poltergiest, but it was miles better than The Messengers and all the Japanese remakes. It was a fun flick with some spooky moments and a nice side story. Not bad.

The family dynamic and backstory were unusual and very effective in creating audience identification/sympathy. The rest was standard haunted house shenanigans. Very good sound design.

I want to see this, but will probably wait for the dvd. Most times I go to the theater to see a movie like this I'm disappointed. Although, anytime I get ooey gooey movie popcorn can't be THAT bad The preview made me think of the film Darkness which I loved so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised! Thanks for the review!
