The book is lost forever, but I wonder if he would allow a movie adaptation, that probably wouldn't be the first movie about that subject, so...

is it true that Stephen King took it off the market? I read this once. I just ask because I bought it some years ago in Germany. Itīs called Amok here.

I had a similar thing in mind as Boni
Several yrs. ago, as I was still vice-president of an MC, I came across a boy which was keen to follow us, finally we allowed him to be around, most MC have such people, the scene coined even a term for them: hangarounds
usually they simply dont have the number one requirement for achieving prospect-status: a bike
He was too young too and he was the kind of person who tries to be a rocker to solve his fears.
I took a strange liking to him and soon he followed me like a puppy.
Soon I learned about his fears and problems, not from what he said, but from what he didnt.
He was the door scraper in his grade and was generally bullied, usually not physically, cause he was a bulky but mentally. He lived several places cause his pa was an airman. The town he lift most in was El Paso, from him it sounds as ElDorado.. but I fear it was like the golden embroidery of an invitation card, quite useless and sometimes misleading..
He finally managed the school and as I quit these part of my life and become someone more respectable I finally lost track, I just heard he himself joined the service and was in Afghanistan.
At the time I did now him I read RAGE, AMOK in German. It engulfed me immideately and I felt, these book could help him, I gave it to him. He understand the reason, as he rode, why I did give it to him, but it failed to work in cause of his pride.
I thought it would have been a good idea to adapt these book for a play, cause given in school it would lead to deeper understanding by the partipants of himself, their role in bullying and of victims.
I did wrot several scenes but lost it.
Due to the occurences in a german school lastly I did pick up the idea again.
I would adapt the book for a play in german language and give it free to schools to form a deeper understanding and even prevent such, furthermore I feel many pupils could use the play to process their fear and incertitude which they cannot voice against adults.
So the Q: would allow the adaption?
I fear, that boy, given access to a gun and the bravado would have acted similar
