Default Critical mass-(to the fly on the wall)

    Hi folks,
Is anyone out there familiar with this concept?Aparently some scientists
were studying a group of monkeys and they observed one monkey washing her sweet potato in a particular way.Soon all the monkeys(99 others)were
doing the same.O.K. were all familiar with monkey see etc...Whats interesting
is that another group of monkeys hundreds of miles away with no contact of any kind(with the first group) began behaving in exactly the same way.Aparently a similar phenomenom has been observed in the lab with microscopic organisms. When molecules line up a certain way and when enough of them follow suit other particles that are seemingly un-connected
begin to line up also.Forgive me I'm not doing this concept justice but the basic idea is there.I'm not a religous person but rather a spiritual atheiest.I've
always known that if enough people pray for the same thing it will happen.
If enough of us agree on something it will become reality. The implications are
mind blowing. We have the power to change our lives the world and the entire universe.Maybe our world is going down the crapper because a deadly critical
mass has already been reached.Too many of us feel helpless and apathetic.
Too many of us BELIEVE nothing can be done so just sit back and watch it implode. This feels right to me.If so,we can change it starting now.Agree with me?Good.Lets all be Cowboys of the Apocalypse and change **** around. The time is now.It is within our grasp as long as we have hands to clasp. And we do folken,we do.

Not to throw a wrench into your theory but... wouldn't the world have stopped littering by now were this concept true?

    Hello Nero,
Thanks for responding, its always nice to get "mail".To answer your question, not necessairily. What causes people to litter?Indifference, carelessness(is that a word?)and a general lack of respect for our surroundings. We all know(I hope)that to litter is to contribute to the problem. In spingtime litter abounds and looking around at all the garbage can be discouraging, which contributes to apathy.I believe the thinking goes something like this because I've been guilty of it myself-"Its so dirty, one more candy wrapper won't make a difference,or one more cigarette butt doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things."Except it does, they do.Perhaps the critical mass with regards to litter is the following-Enough people have decided that- "Its not my problem,I'm not responsible for other peoples garbage,I can't make a difference so why bother."This type of thought process isn't exactly inspirering or empowering.
I cant take credit for the critical mass theory its not my creation.Sorry but at the moment I don't have the authors name on hand but I will post it next time I'm around so if your interested you could invetigate on your own.I hope I've answered your question
and I do enjoy bieng challenged because it either re-enforces my beliefs or forces me to re-evaluate.I look forward to the next wrench.

    Mudpuppy!
Dirty dawg. But seriously folks...thanks for responding to my message. If we truly are on the same virtual page I'm asking myself "Where do we go from here?"I've a suggestion
thanks to a user called Nero.I promise to not litter.I'm guilty of chucking the occasional
cigarette butt into the gutter.I justify it like this;I only toss them in concrete infested areas, never in green spaces.I promise to stop doing this. Are you with me and do you have any other suggestions as to how we could pay this forward. Please let me know.

This also has been witnessed in species of birds and in human beings! If I recall there are studies involving classroom students. There is something similar observed in photons, where changes to one photon produce changes in another photon regardless of space, as we know it. It's really more a matter of figuring out how knowledge really operates in space and time; where cells store information and how that information is relayed. The book "The Cosmic Serpent" brushes the topic. But because information can be communicated by cells across space and time, somehow when chemicals pass through a certain pattern of matter it creates some kind of electrical current, or there is some substance like "ether", doesn't necessarily mean that we can affect the way people operate on that information. An idea in one person in one continent may mean that the same idea starts popping up in human beings all the way on the other side of the world, but it doesn't necessarily mean that we will act on it. It's kind of interesting though. I definitely believe in the ability of humans to manifest things. I don't think we need a Critical Mass. I think some people are just better at it than others.
