Hey Hey People New Fan Here

Hola and hello! I'm Mandy, and as of a few days ago I became a a fan of Stephen King. My two girl friends have been bugging me to start readin his books for a long time, but I've always just said I would with no intention of actually doing so because my life is already hectic without trying to read some long book. Well, over the weekend my dad came home with two movies, Misery and The Stand. He told me they were in the horrorish genre and I chose to watch them.

Misery creeped me out, because it reminded me of Twilight fan girls *gags* but I still thought it was awsome. We watched The Stand over two days, and that's when I fell in love.

When I found out both movies were based off Stephen King book, I called up my girlfriends and asked if they had both books. They only had Misery, but I really wanted to The Stand first. So I rushed out to my library the next day and took out the only copy they had left. I also ended up taking out Salem's Lot becasue the librarian said it was a vampire novel.

I'm only about a hundred pages into The Stand, but I already am in love. I can't wait to start reading more Stephen King; even though my firends are totally gonna rub it in my face that they were right about King and I was wrong. Oh gotta jet! Catch you all onthe flipside!

I can still recall that feeling from when I first read The Stand in its original version. I can't describe it, but it's there.

you picked a good one to start out with..i'll tell ya something, the books are so much better than the movies ESPECIALLY the stand! the only movies i really liked was Green Mile and Mist. the movies just don't give the books justice. i would love to see the dark tower series made into a movie, but afraid they'll mess it up. plus, it would take someone special to play Roland
