Is it the formula? Is 5oz enough? It's not colic, is it? I would definitely check with your Pediatrician ASAP. Keep us informed.

Are you serious? Feeding a 2 month old baby every three hours is EXACTLY what you should be doing. They have to eat that frequently. My grand nephew that is 6 months old still eats every 3 hours or so. Less during the night at this point, but during the day, yup like clock work. I understand the tiredness that goes along with having 2 young children I had 3 two years apart. At one point I had a 4 year old, 2 year old and a newborn. That was one of the most difficult times in my life. If your overwhelmed look for someone to take the baby for a few hours 2 or 3 times a week and sleep while he is gone. Motherhood is a very hard job but it has benefits that top any other job in this country. Raising healthy loving well mannered children is the outcome. My children are now 20, 18 and 16. You will make it, just tap into that power that comes from great accomplishment and do except help, get some rest when you can and that God for your children. They are privileges.

okay, I know some will disagree with what Im about to say but it worked for me and my babies, at 2 months, I began putting the dry baby cereal in their night bottles, the 9:00 to midnight one, start with a teaspoon and acquire more slowly as needed over time, but, it works to keep their tummy full and sleep longer thru the night, now this is not recommened by drs Im sure, lol, but by grandmothers of mine, and it works, it didnt hurt any of them at all and we got more sleep. One thing also that I would do is add, okay and some are going to totally disagree with this, lmao, is a bit of whit Karo corn syrup in with the cereal to the nite bottle also, it gives it a sweet taste which the baby will love, and keeps the cereal from constipating them.

oh yea scotts girl is right, you want to make the hole in the nipple for the nite bottle a little larger (burn a needle and put it in the hole a few times is how I did it) , not to gush out, just so the baby will be able to suck it thru though slowly.

You could add just a little bit of Baby Cereal to the bottle. You may have to make the nipple hole a little bigger to get the cereal thru, and just use a little bit of the cereal in the formula so you won't cause constipation. This should help fill the baby up an little more. Also, he should be taking a bottle/nursing every 2 hours, still, anyway...

Sounds like baby is on a normal feeding schedule. Once you introduce solids at about 6 months the formula consumption should slow down some. Some doctors are okay with adding cereal to the bottle. Mine was not!!!! He gave me several reasons why adding solids too early is not a good idea, unhealthy weight gain, allergies, and simply filling up on the wrong nutrients being the most important of those. So I went by the book and started rice cereal at 6 months, then oatmeal and barley, then fruits and veggies, and finally meats at about 9 months. No cows milk before 1 year of age either...baby's tummy can not tolerate it any earlier.
I can feel your pain though. My son is 17 months now, but he is breastfed, and at that age, all he wanted to do was nurse. I spent the majority of my time with him attached to me, and occasionally it wore on my nerves. When the tiredness started getting to me I just tried to look at it this way: at least the baby is letting you hold him right now. In a short few months, he will be up, running around and into everything, so busy he hardly has time to hug you, much less let you hold him. So treasure that sweet newborn innocence, because it passes all too quickly, and try to get some rest when the baby rests if you can. Congratulations and good luck!

I know it's tough--I remember trying to keep a hungry 2-month old fed as well as work 40 hours/week--but you can do it. Eventually his tummy will grow and he'll be able to tolerate more food, which will last him longer. Try to sleep whenever he does, if you can. Can your husband / partner help out with some of the feedings?
    Hang in there!

I'm a mom of three. I completely agree with putting just a touch of baby cereal in the night bottle. I wouldn't do the karo yet. that adds a bunch of complications that you might not need. if your child is eating that much, his or her little tummy might be able to digest the cereal properly without backing them up. give it a shot and let us know if it helps. good luck, and nap when you can.
