    Default True Grit (Remake)

True Grit re make by who else The Coen Brothers. Loved No Counrty for Old Men one of My top Twenty maybe even ten films of all time. Got lost and entrenched in it like I did for the LOTR, Dark Knight, and Watchmen. Can't wait to see what they do with this western. that would be awesome to be in this film in any way. Getting coffee if I have to. I'm always sporting a beard. Just need the right hat. Its. all about the hats. In a western. Maybe they could write apart for the Voice less rider/ an Eastwood essc character. Quiet and intimidating like the Coens do so well with their villians. . I'll have to watch the original again. One of my Favorite trip was camping in the Black Hills. Visited the set for Dances With Wolves a tourist trap in some ways. But North dakota, South Dakota, and the badlands would be the perfect seting and background for the film. I know the Lay of the land from Montana to Duluth, Mn, the north shore and Lutsen. Custer Park the Needle Highway has some of the most beautiful landscape that are better then the Rockie Mountains. So much great scenery that hasn't even grace the lens yet. Wish I could chat with the Coen Brothers.

My immediate reaction to a True Grit remake is a resounding WTF, but if anyone could pull it off, the Coen Brothers could.

So, has anyone seen this remake yet? I am curious as to what opinions are out there! I haven't seen it yet, my husband is sure it will suck, but I'm not so sure. Thoughts and opinions?

I saw it and loved it...The original is before my time, so I may be biased...I say go see it and your hubby may be pleasantly surprised

True Grit is just an example of running out of ideas. I belive that John Wayne won best actor for that movie. It kinda would seem like a spit in the face if Jeff Bridges was nominated and won. Jeff Bridges is a great actor, though. Gotta givem that.

I don't think a John Wayne movie is somehow holy and impervious to a remake, however, I saw the remake yesterday, and must say I was unimpressed. It wasn't bad, and all the acting was fantastic, it just didn't amaze me. I thought the Coen brothers could pull it off, too, but sadly, they seemed to have missed the mark. I was really excited for this, too, had been playing Red Dead Redemption lately. Too bad Red Dead, a videogame, is a better Western than this regurgitated flick. It's still worth seeing, I will say.
