Even though my boys are getting a little big for kid movies, I took them to see Wreck it Ralph last night. I thought it would be more like a Shrek as far as the humor but it wasn't It was cute and good for little kids. I think my kids would have rather stayed home and watched Walking Dead episodes.

    At the weekend I re-watched 3 movies:

    1. LOL (2012). Very nice family movie, nothing great, but good to have some fun.
    2. Snow White and the Huntsman. The movie is not bad, a nice fairy-tale, though, I should agree, they should not have chosen Kristen Stewart for this movie, she was not good for it.
    3. Dark Shadows. This movie disappointed me when I first saw it in the theater, and I am still of the opinion that there is something missing in the movie. The actors are amazing, the plot is great...everything seems to be fine, But still, till the very end it is not clear what we are watching - a comedy, a drama, or, maybe, a thriller. The genre is not clear. It is a pity, because the movie had all chnces to be really great.

Watched The Maltese Falcon, the Bogey version, last night for the umpteenth time. Such classic greatness.

Watched Antatomy of a Murder the night before. Again pure, great entertainment. George C Scott gives one of my all-time favorite performances. Jimmy Stewart's not bad, too. For those who suspect they wouldn't enjoy courtroom movies I suggest they consider giving the following a try...

    Anatomy of a Murder
    Witness for the Prosecution
My Cousin Vinny (my favorite courtroom movie)

Dead Alive (Braindead) (1992) - If you've never seen this movie and love gory horror/comedy movies... then I highly recommend this one. It is by far the goriest and one of the cheesiest films I've seen. Peter Jackson should make at least one more film like this.

Last movie in the theatre was Skyfall. I am not apologizing for being a James Bond fan. I love Bond movies and have the collection to date thus far. On television yesterday on TCM was a whole slew of movies with the theme of sisters. Bette Davis was in most and though I can not remember the names of the movies at the moment, they were all very good and kept me occupied. The last DVD watched was War Horse in honor of Rememberance Day, I cried, again.

Rented Prometheus and have to say it was disappointing. The cgi was spectacular but the story was very disjointed and abit confusing (and I ain't a dumb one). What the heck happened in the 1st 2 minutes and what did it have to do with the rest of the movie??????????

I watched "The Tree of Life" (2011, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn) three days ago and I'm still thinking about it. I think it's an amazingly beautiful movie. Production-wise, it's perfect, and the story is really moving. It reminded me so much of when I was growing up, when kids actually PLAYED OUTSIDE. At the same time, it brought back memories of when my children were young. I think it's one of those films you either love or hate. In my case, I loved it.

Saw Skyfall...and loved it. Having always been a Bond fan, I was looking forward to this one and thought it was more of a throwback to the old days. Craig did a great job and secured his status as one of the better Bonds.

    oops...ermmm...what ?!

prometheus - totally agree with krf

the woman - wierd movie, definately can tell jack ketchum wrote it (if you've read any ketchum...you know what i mean)...lucky mckee ?? kinda twisted director...haven't decided if i like that...but i keep watching...

dark shadows - totally agree with lina: loved the original show...really wanted to love this...but, boy, it is uneven for a lot of reasons...still...the good parts far outweight the bad..but ni was really pulling for something far more in tone with sleepy hollow...

and, then...there is tucker and dale vs pure evil...whoa !! is definately one of the best movie i've seen all year ! i can easily see this becoming one of my favorite movies...only time'll tell...think evil dead kinda attitude...perfect on just about every level...
