Ghoulies -- cheesey early-nineties horror flick. I thought I'd seen this before when I was young, but the movie was completely unfamiliar. It pretty much sucked.

The Awakening -- an independent horror film. It had its moment, but overall, pretty terrible. Netflix had rated it 5 stars which it never does (even Jaws only got four and a half!), so I was expecting this amazing horror flick, and instead got garbage.

Didn't like drive at all, I agree it's overrated. Loved The Guard, classic Irish humour.

The Debt - earnest drama across 30 years
Shark Night 3D - idiotic in every way
Johnny English - if you liked the first one you'll like this
The Lion King 3D - 3D retooling is very effective
The Three Musketeers 3D - anachronistic romp
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark - OK horror spoiled by "Idiot Father Syndrome"

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil - Seriously recommended comedy-horror viewing. Imagine a funnier version of Shaun of the Dead in the genre of psycho backwoods killer family instead of zombie genre...HILARIOUS.

Source Code. Almost a one man show and a pretty good one, at that. Interesting theory and the film kept my attention.

I watched Evil Remains today. That was a weird horror movie. But good anyway. Thought to watch Nightmare on Elm Street 5 tomorrow.

I watched a couple of horror films this weekend.

Paranormal Activity 3 - made the mistake of seeing this on opening weekend. The theater was packed with teens and twenty-somethings that wouldn't shut up through the entire thing. Yes, the light is moving. Yes, she is standing by the bed for a time-lapsed three hours. Didn't you see the other ones? It was interesting, but all of the shouting really made it hard to get into it, and it still left a lot of questions unanswered. Plus, as the third movie in the series, we've seen all of this before, and it doesn't really offer anything new.

Poltergeist 2 - I remember liking this when I was little, but it's not as good as I remember. The old dude, Kane, is still great and creepy, but the Native American, Taylor, seems contrived. Still some cool parts, but they're few and far betweeen.

The Last Exorcism - another "found footage" handheld film a la The Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity. This film was actually pretty good, had a twist at the end I didn't see coming, and main character was likable. I would recommend this to anyone that likes these types of films.
