If you want you can read more reviews on IMDB, but in short.. The movie lacked credibility and may I add, Richard Gere and Diane Keaton kissing was awkward. You would expect more of two such veterans.
If you want a super romantic movie, which I have seen a couple of times, go see the Notebook. Same author, but much better. Actually the movie is better than the book, IMO, the book is way over the top.
    Have a great weekend!

And if you want something more serious. Seriously go see Boy A, it will leave an impression.

It was a little cheesy in places, but overall, it had a wonderful message about family vs. solitude and money.
I've got that one in my list too. Seems like it's time for me to finally watch it. And I got the same feeling with Bonneville starring our lovely Kathy Bates. Want to see it, but afraid it might disappoint.

Okay, I didn't really see a movie, but glanced at two. Luckily I didn't waste anymore time.
The first was Crank 2: High voltage and again only one acronym come to mind.. WTF? Seriously, Jason Stetham, you disappoint me!

The second was Valkyrie. I've read a novel recently dealing with the same slice of history as portrayed in this movie and the book was a real struggle to get through, but worth the fight. This movie on the other hand was sleep inducing. Literally, my husband didn't make it, and was snoring next to me. And Tom Cruise did NOT pull that off, IMHO.

Jeez, I hope I'll see a decent movie tonight.

Good for you for watching the original Spanish version, rather than that stupid U.S. remake, "Quarantine," I think it was called. And yes, it was an unusually good horror film, a movie genre that generates a lot of garbage, alas.

Just watched Lifeforce, a 1985 film about space vampires. I remember watching it on my little black & white TV on a late night horror show (Dr. Madblood in Virginia Beach) and not quite getting it. Watching it again years later I now understand why...the head vampire chick (who is completely gorgeous, I mean, REALLY friggin gorgeous) walks around naked throughout most of the movie, so the edited for TV version lost most of its glue and charm. The creature FX were above par for their day.

Live, love, laugh & be happy,

Ah, great minds like the same movies! I ADORED The Notebook! I've seen it too many times to admit. That kiss in the pouring rain! Oh my goodness, what a fantastic love story. Noah was the ultimate man....*sigh* Those little arrows he left for Allie to follow to her very own art studio. OK, I'm waxing a bit too much here...*sigh*

"I am no one special. Just a common man with common thoughts. I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but in one respect I've succeeded as gloriously as anyone who ever lived. I've loved another with all my heart and soul and for me that has always been enough...She had come back into his life like a sudden flame; blazing and streaming into his heart. Noah stayed up all night contemplating the certain agony he knew would be his if he were to lose her twice."

Okay, quick update while movie night is still in progress. The first choice of the day was a good start.

Star Trek was entertaining, I had a few laughs and the lead was a treat for the eye. Not a masterpiece, but good enough.

The latest movie I watched was Zombieland. Not a bad flick for something fun.

Wanted to see Paranormal Activity but it wasn't showing in my area.

The last two movies I viewed were both long-shots that I almost didn't bother to watch, yet they surprised me by being surprisingly good.

The first was "Criminal," starring John C. Reilly. Its a classic conman shell game-type of a film.

The second was "Hamlet 2," which is a freakin' riot. Also, it co-stars Catherine Keener, one of the world's most appealing women.

    I highly recommend both.
