make a clothes rope!!! It may break, sure, but it will get you a bit closer to the ground at the very least. You'll be cold getting down the mountain afterwards, but it's better than slowly freezing to death. Also, there were bungie cords holding the cushion to the ski lift (you can see them when the camera pans around). They aren't long enough to reach the ground of course, but again, they'll get you closer. Or...could one of the kids have used his skis, or a ski pole, to sort of zip line down the ski lift wire? This seems the most risky of my ideas, and they threw all that stuff away trying to get the attention of the plow driver, but it might be better than tearing your hands apart on the wire. And I've never heard of a wolf attack on a person in New England. I do know wolves kill people, and Dan was an easy target with his legs broken (yeah, that was gruesome), but the other people? I don't know. I did like the references to Jaws, though.
