Everything's Eventual: The Movie!

Greetings Everyone!

I am J.P. Scott, Director/Producer of Everything's Eventual, a dollar baby film authorized by Stephen King. I am starting a thread on the message board for all those interested in this project and the short story it is based on. And just so there's no confusion, our film is based on the title story of the short story collection "Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales". It is the story of Dinky Earnshaw and his very special talent.

I am so excited to be starting a thread on this great site! I have been a member since the summer but never really posted until just recently. I hope to get to know many more of you and talk King! I hope you enjoy this thread as much as I will!

This project began in August of 2008 when we received permission to adapt the short story to film. We planned and organized the crew, equipment, talent and budget over the next 5 months and began shooting on February 16th. We shot for 13 days and wrapped principle photography on March 1st. We have been editing since then and have completed a rough cut of the film. We plan to have the film completed in July. The film is feature length and we look forward to entering it in various local and national film festivals in the coming future.

I will be posting additional information regarding the movie (ie: screen grabs, credit info, behind the scene pics, bio's etc.) Please feel free to ask me questions or chat about the project or short story.

Did you put in any foreshadowing/references to Dinky's involvement in the DARK TOWER saga?

Of course Black Flagg. One of the reasons I picked the short story was because of Dinky's involvement with the DT. I didn't focus on it much, because that is not the story the movie tells, but there certainly are vague references, foreshadow and symbolism that reference or elude to DT. We have a decent amount of goodies for DT and King fans in EE, I hope you will be able too see the film once it's finished.

Sounds good to me. I had to wiki Dinky to remember his power an was touched when it said his was one of the names Roland honors at the tower. Just brought it all back for a moment.

Dollar baby films can only be shown at film festivals as that's part of the agreement to do an adaptation. Internet distribution is not allowed except for clips no longer than 2 minutes.
