1st Annual SKMB Convention

Hey SKMB peeps....
The Ad Hoc Committee has been working diligently on putting together an SKMB convention.....We have decided on 2010, gives us all time to plan.
We also have decided if this is a hit...we will rotate the sites each year...so the convention will not be held in the same location each time...

First question for SKMB peeps is:

'Would you come to an SK Convention if it were held in Bangor, Maine, in July or August 2010?'

Please answer as honestly as possible so we can get an idea of attendence....

Of course I would be very interested, especially as it would be a perfect excuse to return to the U.S for a holiday.

While i'm planning a trip to Maine this summer, i would consider going next summer. If my husband is game. (He's the driver!) I try to go somewhere different every summer, usually we camp. But i'll keep an open mind and a watchful eye on the thread.

I answered maybe, I would love to say YES, but I'm not 100% sure the fiance would like to go to Maine for holiday. Not that he would HAVE to go but we don't like taking holiday with out one another. So I will have to ask him when we have more info.

Well, unfortunately I DEFINITELY won't be coming, but I think it would be cool to organise a simultaneous UK Convention, with live web links and stuff (dinosaur's word for anything technical = 'stuff').

Anyone else in the UK think that's a good idea?

I answered maybe. Like everyone, finances would be a consideration (although we are interested in a getaway). Primarily it would depend on the date. I just got another job and we don't have children so we tend to be the GO TO summer people. Additionally in August we always attend the Edmonton Folk Fest. but we will definitely keep an eye out. and if it's possible we will be there.
